Congresswoman Jen Kiggans discusses military, energy, and healthcare on April 16, 2025

Congresswoman Jen Kiggans recently shared her views on a range of issues through a series of tweets. Drawing upon her background as a Naval Aviator, she highlighted important developments and collaborations.

On April 16, 2025, Congresswoman Kiggans expressed her support for enhancing the East Coast Master Jet Base. She emphasized the strategic significance of bringing F-35 squadrons to NAS Oceana. As an aviator who previously flew helicopters at this station, Kiggans stated, "Bringing F-35 squadrons there will not only ensure mission readiness – it will also help bring much-needed improvements to our base."

Later the same day, Kiggans commended Chesapeake Mayor Rick West. In her tweet, she acknowledged his leadership and advocacy for a comprehensive energy strategy. Kiggans remarked, "Thank you, Chesapeake Mayor Rick West, for your commonsense leadership and advocacy for an all-of-the-above energy approach that will continue to drive economic development in our region!"

In another post on April 16, 2025, Congresswoman Kiggans discussed healthcare policy, particularly Medicaid reform. She conveyed her efforts alongside 11 co-signers in advocating for improvements in the system. According to her tweet, "We must improve program integrity, reduce improper payments, and modernize delivery systems to assist those who the program was intended to help —"

Congresswoman Jen Kiggans represents Virginia's 2nd Congressional District, covering Virginia Beach, the Eastern Shore, and portions of Norfolk and Hampton.
