Virginia Congresswoman Jen Kiggans recognizes Medal of Honor recipients' bravery

Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, representing Virginia's 2nd district since 2023, recently shared her thoughts and initiatives on social media. Born in Tampa, Florida, Kiggans has a background in nursing and previously served in the Virginia Senate from 2020 to 2022.

On March 25, 2025, Congresswoman Kiggans acknowledged National Medal of Honor Day by highlighting the valor and sacrifice of American service members. She expressed gratitude for their service and commitment to defending national freedoms. "Today on National Medal of Honor Day, we recognize the bravery and sacrifice of our American heroes who have earned our nation’s highest military honor. We are forever grateful for their service to our country and their dedication to defending our freedoms."

Later that day, she addressed a recent tragedy involving two Virginia Beach Police Department officers. Officers Cameron Girvin and Christopher Reese lost their lives during a routine traffic stop in February. In response, Kiggans introduced legislation aimed at supporting charitable relief funds for their families.
