Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, who has represented Virginia’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress since 2023, is actively engaging with her constituents through social media. The former Virginia Senate member utilizes her platform to interact with citizens and provide updates on various initiatives.
In a tweet dated March 31, 2025, Kiggans highlighted visits from guests to Washington, D.C., mentioning the opportunity she had to showcase the Capitol to visitors. She invited others planning trips to the area to contact her office to arrange tours, saying, "We had so many guests visit us in D.C. this past week from #VA02 and beyond and were able to show people our nation’s beautiful Capitol!...If you are planning a trip to Washington, D.C. for the spring or summer, please let us know so we can help with a tour!"
Earlier in the day on March 31, Kiggans discussed her military service and the importance of logistics in the Navy. She emphasized the need to invest specifically in Military Sealift Command (MSC) vessels, stating, "When I served in the Navy, every mission depended on reliable logistics. From fuel in the tanks to food in the galleys, our Military Sealift Command plays a vital role in that supply mission and so much more." As part of her agenda, she called for renewed investment in shipbuilding and MSC vessels.
On April 1, 2025, Kiggans reached out to her constituents in preparation for Tax Day. She invited them to participate in a telephone town hall with a local tax advocate to assist them in navigating tax season issues. She urged people to RSVP, writing, "#VA02 – do you need help ahead of Tax Day on April 15th? If so, please join me and a local tax advocate for a telephone town hall tomorrow where we will help you navigate tax season!"
