Norfolk City Manager Patrick Roberts has presented the Fiscal Year 2026 Proposed Budget to the City Council. The budget highlights key areas of focus based on resident feedback, including community safety, transportation improvements, housing investments, and public facility maintenance. Additionally, it emphasizes enhancing employee recruitment and retention efforts as well as expanding tourism.

Residents are invited to review the proposed budget online at www.norfolk.gov/CitizenCents. This website offers an overview of the budget process and access to the "Balancing Act" budget simulation tool. A paper copy is also available at Norfolk Public Library locations.

Feedback from residents is welcomed through various channels. An online public comment form is open until April 18 at www.norfolk.gov/CitizenCents, where other methods for providing input are detailed.

Furthermore, a public hearing will be held at Granby High School on April 9 at 6 p.m., offering residents a chance to share their thoughts directly with council members. Instructions for commenting will be available on the City Council’s webpage.
