In observance of the upcoming Memorial Day holiday, all City offices, courts, and community centers in Chesapeake will be closed on Monday, May 27. The Chesapeake Visitor Center and Parks, Recreation and Tourism Administrative Office will remain open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All Chesapeake Public Libraries will be closed on Sunday, May 26, and Monday, May 27. Trash collection schedules will not be affected.
The Chesapeake Mayor's Commission on Veterans Affairs will host its annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 27 at 11:00 a.m. in front of City Hall. The event is open to the public. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved into City Council Chambers.
Normal operating schedules for city services will resume on Tuesday, May 28. Residents seeking additional information can contact the Customer Contact Center at 757-382-CITY (2489) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on weekdays or visit CityOfChesapeake.net at any time.
