The Norfolk Arts Commission has opened the application process for grants available to nonprofit arts and cultural organizations serving the residents of Norfolk. These grants apply to the Fiscal Year 2026.

Organizations eligible for consideration can apply through one of the three specified categories: General Operating Support, Project Grants, and Arts Equity Finding Support. The grants target nonprofit organizations that do not receive funding from the City of Norfolk. An essential criterion for applicants is to have an active lay board of directors and be compliant with federal regulations that prohibit discrimination based on race, color, national origin, disability, age, or sex, and ensure accessibility for persons with disabilities as specified in the application process.

Applications must be submitted by Sunday, April 20, at 11:59 p.m. EDT. It is important to note that this is not a postmark deadline.

For further details and application materials, interested parties are directed to visit the website at www.norfolkarts.net/grants. For any inquiries, the Norfolk Arts Commission can be contacted via email at artscommission@norfolk.gov or reached by phone through Debra Burrell, Arts Manager, at the provided office or mobile numbers.

In alignment with its mission, the Norfolk Arts Commission aims to foster artistic creation and expression by facilitating community engagement in diverse arts and cultural activities.
