Norfolk, Va. — The Battleship Wisconsin (BB-64) will celebrate its 81st anniversary on April 12 with a day of programming hosted by Nauticus. The event, which will run from 10 AM to 5 PM, aims to honor the ship's history and showcase its future.

The celebration includes the opening of the new NCIS Room, allowing guests to meet active-duty agents, and a preview of the upcoming Turret Tour during a "Turret Talk" program. These additions are designed to enhance visitors’ interaction with the ship's history.

Scheduled programs for the day include several tours such as the VIP Experience, the Command & Control Tour, and the Main Deck Tour, each offering a unique exploration of the ship. Visitors can also participate in activities like the ice cream-making workshop and a chess workshop with guest instructors. Additionally, haircuts will be available in the BB-64 Barber Shop by Vintage Barber Company.

“This celebration is about more than just a birthday—it’s a tribute to the incredible legacy of the Wisconsin and the people who served aboard her,” said Rehn West, director of development and marketing at Nauticus. “It’s an unforgettable day of discovery, learning, and fun for all ages.”

Nauticus, a maritime discovery center in Norfolk, Virginia, offers interactive exhibits and educational programs focused on maritime history. It operates with the support of the Nauticus Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to community education and access to maritime resources.
