The City of Norfolk's Office of Resilience is set to host the third installment of its "Community Corner: A Conversation on Coastal Resilience" series. The event will take place on Thursday, March 27, from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Chrysler Museum of Art, located at 1 Memorial Place.
This ongoing series aims to educate the public about Norfolk's efforts in mitigating flood risks through the $2.6 billion Resilient Norfolk Coastal Storm Risk Management (CSRM) Project. Residents are encouraged to engage with city staff from various departments and gain insights into Norfolk’s Flood Strategy and its vision for becoming a future coastal community.
Attendees will have the opportunity to inquire about the CSRM Project, focusing particularly on Phase 1, which features initiatives designed to reduce flooding risk from West Ghent to Harbor Park. Registration for this event is requested.
The "Community Corner: A Conversation on Coastal Resilience" series will continue throughout 2025 at different locations around Norfolk. For more information regarding the CSRM Project, individuals can visit resilientnorfolk.com.
Media representatives are welcome to attend this event. Further details can be obtained by contacting Megan Shearin, public information officer for the Norfolk Resilience Partners, via email at mshearin@communicateonpoint.com.
