All Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) services in Norfolk, Virginia, will experience delays on Wednesday, January 22, due to anticipated overnight snowfall. Services affected include buses, light rail, ferry, paratransit, and OnDemand ridesharing options. The Base Express serving Naval Station Norfolk is also expected to commence operations at 8 a.m.

The Elizabeth River Ferry will start its service from High Street in Portsmouth at 8 a.m., offering 30-minute intervals. Paratransit services are scheduled for first pick-ups beginning at the same time. OnDemand ridesharing bookings in Newport News and Virginia Beach will be accessible starting at 8 a.m.

Additionally, the public meeting for "Connecting Chesapeake: A Study of High-Capacity Transit," originally set for Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at Greenbrier Public Library, has been rescheduled to January 29 at the same time.

HRT plans to maintain a regular schedule throughout the day; however, passengers should anticipate potential delays and unplanned detours. For updated information, customers can visit www.gohrt.com or call 757-222-6100.

HRT's mission is described as connecting Hampton Roads with transportation solutions that are "reliable, safe, efficient and sustainable."
