The Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC) has announced a webinar to discuss the development of the region's first Climate Action Plan. The plan is funded by a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while protecting the area from climate change impacts.
Scheduled for January 22, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., the virtual event will be hosted via Zoom. It will include a presentation by HRPDC staff and a Q&A session, providing an opportunity for community members to learn about the Climate Action Plan and participate in its formation. Registration is required at http://bit.ly/3VBV72C.
Following the webinar, HRPDC will launch a community survey to gather feedback on local climate concerns. This input is crucial for shaping initiatives within the Climate Action Plan. The survey can be accessed at www.hrpdcva.gov/climate until February 24, 2025.
Community involvement is encouraged as HRPDC seeks insights on addressing climate issues in Hampton Roads effectively. For further details or assistance with participation, contact Quan McLaurin at qmclaurin@hrpdcva.gov or call 757-420-8300.
