There will be road closures in the Chesapeake Municipal Complex, including Albemarle Drive, Holt Drive, and Shea Drive on Saturday, August 3, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. due to the annual Chesapeake Criterium Bike Race. A marked detour utilizing Library Drive will be in place during the event. Traffic destined for the Municipal Complex, Courts, and Chesapeake Public Library's Central Library should utilize the detour during these hours.
There will also be a road closure to through traffic on George Washington Hwy S, from Moses Grandy Trail to Whedbee Correll Lane on Sunday, August 4, from 6:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for the Teeuwen Memorial Time Trials Bike Race. All residents and businesses will retain access and the Chesapeake Police Department will assist with directing traffic. A marked detour utilizing Dominion Blvd S will be in place. The Deep Creek Park Recycling Drop Off site will be available to motorists traveling southbound on George Washington Hwy S.
