You no longer need a witness signature on a mailed absentee ballot, but you will need to provide your year of birth and the last four digits of your Social Security number.

Return your completed absentee ballot to the Chesapeake Voter Registrar’s Office by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, November 7. If returning your completed ballot to the Chesapeake Voter Registrar by mail, it must be postmarked before or on November 7 and must be received by the Registrar no later than noon on Monday, November 13.

If you request it by mail and then change your mind, you can still vote in person during early voting or on Election Day, but you must bring your blank ballot with you. If you didn’t receive it or no longer have the blank ballot, you can still vote by completing the necessary paperwork.
