Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, representing Virginia's 2nd district since 2023 and a Virginia Senate alumna, has made several announcements in recent days via social media. Kiggans, who has a nursing degree from Old Dominion University and resides in Virginia Beach, has maintained an active online presence, engaging her constituents in her area.

On April 20, 2025, Congresswoman Kiggans encouraged high school students in her district to participate in the Congressional Art Competition. "If you know a high schooler in #VA02 who is an artist, be sure to get your submissions in for the Congressional Art Competition…! This gives high school students in our district the chance to have their artwork hung in our nation's Capitol! Submit yours by Friday, April 25th!"

Kiggans also took to social media on the same date to extend Easter greetings, quoting a passage from the Bible. "Luke 24:6: 'He is not here; he has risen!' Wishing everyone a blessed and joyous Easter…! Alleluia…! "

On April 21, 2025, Kiggans expressed condolences following the death of Pope Francis, reflecting on his leadership of over 12 years. "The world mourns the loss of Pope Francis this Easter Monday. For over 12 years he led our Catholic church, and he leaves behind a lasting legacy of compassion and inspiration. May he rest in peace, and may his life continue to inspire us all."

In addition to her current term in the U.S. Congress, Kiggans has previously served in the Virginia Senate from 2020 to 2022, following in the footsteps of Elaine Luria. Her career development reflects her commitment to public service and her local community.
