The City of Norfolk, Hampton Roads Transit (HRT), and the Norfolk Tides are preparing for the upcoming baseball season as the Tides face off against the Durham Bulls from March 28 to 30. With limited parking due to ongoing casino construction, fans are advised to consider alternative transportation options.
To ease travel for fans, HRT is offering free rides on The Tide light rail service for every home game. These complimentary rides will be available two hours before and after each game. Additionally, a new service this season includes free ferry rides from North Landing in Portsmouth to Harbor Park Landing for all games. The ferry will operate every 30 minutes starting one hour before game time until one hour after the game's conclusion.
Fans can also take advantage of free parking at three park-and-ride lots located at Newtown Road Station, Military Highway Station, and Ballentine/Broad Creek Station. This allows fans easy access to The Tide light rail without the need to drive or pay for parking.
For those opting to drive, MacArthur South Garage offers free parking for game attendees. Located just two light rail stops or a short walk from Harbor Park, it provides convenient access to the stadium via The Tide. Other paid parking options include Harbor Park Lots F, G, and C at $6 per day and additional city lots with cashless payment systems.
Dominion Tower Garage will provide game day parking at $6 as well. Patrons have the option of walking along Elizabeth River Trail or taking The Tide from Civic Plaza.
An online map detailing available parking lots and transit routes has been made available to assist fans in planning their trips. Fans using light rail services post-game are encouraged to follow designated lines outside the stadium entrance and adhere to safety guidelines around tracks by using crosswalks and sidewalks.
