On February 21, 2025, Congresswoman Kiggans expressed her gratitude towards NAS Oceana for their service. She tweeted: "Great work @nas_oceana...! Thank you for always being there to keep our nation safe!️"

The following day, February 22, 2025, she addressed a tragic incident involving the loss of two police officers in Virginia Beach. She stated: "This morning, our entire community mourns the tragic loss of two brave Virginia Beach police officers who were killed in the line of duty last night." She urged the community to pray for their families and colleagues.

Later that day, she paid tribute to the fallen officers by name. In her tweet she said: "The City of Virginia Beach and the Commonwealth of Virginia will forever be grateful to @VBPD officers Cameron Girvin and Chris Reese who paid the ultimate sacrifice last night protecting our community." She emphasized that their families remain in thoughts and prayers.
