Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) has announced that all services will be suspended early on Wednesday, February 19, due to an impending winter storm. Services will cease no later than 4 p.m., allowing commuters to return home before the anticipated heavy snowfall. The organization has also decided not to operate on Thursday, February 20, in light of expected hazardous road conditions.
The suspension impacts all systemwide bus routes, paratransit services, the Tide Light Rail, Elizabeth River Ferry, OnDemand ridesharing, and the Base Express at Naval Station Norfolk. HRT plans to assess conditions for potential resumption of services on Friday, February 21. Details regarding Friday's schedule will be provided on Thursday.
In addition to service suspensions, transit center information booths and public access to administrative facilities will remain closed. The Customer Service Call Center will also not be operational during this period.
For updates and more detailed information about specific routes and last-service times on Wednesday, customers are encouraged to visit HRT’s website or call their service line.
