The Norfolk Animal Care Center (NACC) is seeking community support to replenish its pet pantry through a "Stuff the Bus" event. The initiative aims to gather donations of dog and cat food, along with other essential items for pets and their families.

On Saturday, February 1, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., NACC's Waggin’ Wheels will be stationed in front of the shelter at 5585 Sabre Road. Residents can drive up and drop off new, unopened pet food without leaving their vehicles. In addition to pet food, the shelter is also accepting new or gently used towels, blankets, toys, leashes, and harnesses.

For those unable to attend the event in person, contributions can be made via the NACC Amazon Wish List at any time.

This event supports not only NACC’s on-site community Pet Pantry but also the Waggin’ Wheels Mobile Pet Pantry events scheduled throughout 2025. These mobile events will occur on the second Saturday of each month at various locations across Norfolk, providing pet food and resources.

Further details about pet pantries and schedules are available on NACC's website at www.norfolk.gov/nacc. Community members are encouraged to connect with NACC on social media @norfolkanimals for updates.
