Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, representing Virginia’s 2nd district, recently shared several updates on her legislative activities and priorities through a series of tweets. Kiggans has been active in addressing agricultural issues, government efficiency, and opioid use disorder solutions for seniors.

On December 5, 2024, Congresswoman Kiggans highlighted the urgency of providing support to farmers as they await a vote on the Farm Bill in the U.S. House. She stated, "While we await a vote on the Farm Bill in the U.S. House, our farmers need assistance now. I am proud to cosponsor the Farmer Assistance and Revenue Mitigation or FARM Act to get small farmers the emergency assistance they may need so they can continue to feed our country."

Later that day, Kiggans mentioned her participation in a meeting focused on enhancing government efficiency. She tweeted about her engagement with notable figures such as Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy: "Productive first meeting with the our @HouseGOP Conference, @elonmusk and @VivekGRamaswamy to discuss the Department of Government Efficiency or DOGE...! I'm looking forward to getting to work in the 119th Congress to make government accountable to the American people!"

On December 6, 2024, Congresswoman Kiggans addressed an important issue regarding opioid use disorder among seniors. Emphasizing their often-overlooked needs, she advocated for immediate access through Medicare Part D once new alternatives become available: "When discussing solutions to opioid use disorder, our seniors are often left out of the conversation... Once new alternatives to opioids come on the market, they should be immediately available to seniors through Medicare Part D! I am proud to be cosponsor @RepMMM's 'Alternatives…"
