Chesapeake announces closures and ceremony plans for Veterans Day

All City of Chesapeake offices, courts, community centers, libraries, and Animal Services will be closed on Monday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day. However, the Chesapeake Visitor Center will remain open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Trash collection schedules will not be affected by the holiday closure. Regular operations for all city services will resume on Tuesday, November 12.

The Chesapeake Mayor’s Commission on Veterans Affairs is organizing a public Veterans Day ceremony. The event is scheduled for Monday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m., and it will take place at the Chesapeake Veterans Memorial located in front of City Hall at 306 Cedar Road.
