NORFOLK, Va.– The Norfolk Animal Care & Adoption Center (NACC) is in need of supplies to care for the animals at the shelter. In order to restock their shelves, the NACC will be hosting a special event called "Stuff the Bus" on Sunday, December 31. The event will take place in front of the shelter, located at 5585 Sabre Rd., from 11 a.m. to noon.

During the "Stuff the Bus" event, individuals can drive up to the NACC's Waggin' Wheels and drop off their donations without even having to leave their vehicle. The shelter is specifically requesting new or gently used towels, blankets, toys, collars, leashes, harnesses of all sizes, as well as new and unopened dog and cat food and treats. A full list of items can be found on the NACC's website.

If you are unable to attend the "Stuff the Bus" donation drive, you can still help by shopping the NACC Amazon Wish List. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference in the lives of the animals at the shelter.

In addition to accepting donations, the NACC is also encouraging individuals to consider adopting an animal in need. As part of their "Happy Pawlidays" adoption event, all adoption fees for ALL animals will be waived through December 31. The shelter's adoption hours are from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. every day except Wednesdays. Interested individuals can visit the NACC's website to view the animals available for adoption.

For those who are not able to adopt, there are still other ways to help. The NACC is actively seeking foster families who can provide temporary homes and TLC for animals in need. Volunteers are also welcome to lend a hand at the shelter. To learn more about fostering or volunteering, individuals can contact the NACC through email at NACC@norfolk.gov or by calling (757) 441-5505.

Stay connected with the NACC by following them on social media @norfolkanimals. Your support will go a long way in ensuring that the animals at the Norfolk Animal Care & Adoption Center receive the care and attention they deserve.
