NORFOLK, VA – The Norfolk Employees’ Retirement System (NERS) and the Department of Finance received recognition from the Government Finance Officers Association for their FY 2022 annual financial reports.
NERS received the prestigious Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its FY 2022 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). This is the 18th consecutive year it has earned this achievement. NERS also received the Award for Outstanding Achievement for its FY 2022 Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) for the third consecutive year.
This continued achievement reflects the high standards that NERS holds for its financial reporting and represents a significant accomplishment by a governmental agency and its management. NERS members can trust that their retirement fund is managed transparently and with standards that exceed national guidelines.
