NORFOLK, VA – The Government Finance Officers Association presented the City of Norfolk with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its FY 2022 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report prepared by the Department of Finance.
This award is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting and represents a significant accomplishment by a governmental agency and its management.
This is the 37th consecutive year the City has received this honor, which reflects leadership’s continued interest, efforts and support in planning and conducting the financial operations of the City in a professional, responsible, and forward-thinking manner. It serves to confer confidence to Norfolk residents that the City is soundly managed financially.
