Graduates earn 422 degrees, certificates from Eastern Virginia Medical School

About 68.5 percent of the 422 degrees and certificates handed out by Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Norfolk conferred 142 doctor's degrees and 137 master's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a doctor's degree in medicine. Data shows the school gave out 142 doctor's degrees in medicine, followed by 101 master's degrees in "other" biological and biomedical sciences and 75 master's degrees in physician assistant.

The school enrolled 1,303 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in 1303 programs.
