Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) will reduce its services on Saturday, January 11, due to an anticipated winter storm. The transit agency announced that it will operate on Snow Route schedules with limited hourly bus service from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Tide light rail and the Elizabeth River Ferry will run every 30 minutes during the same hours. Some light rail trains will also operate without passengers to clear snow and ice from the tracks.
Additionally, HRT's paratransit service, OnDemand ridesharing, and the Base Express shuttle at Naval Station Norfolk will not be in operation on January 11.
For more information about Snow Route schedules, customers can visit https://gohrt.com/customer-service/snow-route-plan/. Updates throughout the weekend will be available at www.gohrt.com or by calling HRT Customer Service at 757-222-6100 between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. on January 11.
Regular service is expected to resume on Sunday, depending on weather conditions. Customers are advised to anticipate delays and possible detours over the weekend.
