Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, representing Virginia’s 2nd district, recently shared a series of tweets highlighting her activities and priorities. Her social media updates provide insight into her focus on military collaboration, recognition of national defense services, and legislative support for military personnel.

On December 12, Kiggans tweeted about a recent roundtable discussion as part of the Women, Peace and Security Caucus. The meeting included military representatives from Japan, Poland, Australia, and the United Kingdom. She mentioned that they discussed strategies to enhance recruitment and retention in their respective militaries. "We had a productive Women, Peace and Security Caucus roundtable with military representatives from Japan, Poland, Australia and the United Kingdom this week...! We discussed strategies and solutions to improve recruitment and retention in our militaries."

On December 13, she extended birthday wishes to the U.S. National Guard via Twitter. She acknowledged their longstanding readiness to defend the nation over the past 388 years and expressed gratitude for their service. "Happy birthday to the @USNationalGuard who have been standing ready to defend our country at a moment’s notice for 388 years… Thank you for your service to our great nation!!"

Later that day, Kiggans spoke on the House floor regarding her support for the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). In her tweet, she emphasized that the bill includes significant quality of life improvements for servicemembers and their families. She also noted its passage with broad bipartisan backing. "This week, I spoke on the House floor in support of the National Defense Authorization Act..! This bill provides incredible quality of life improvements for our servicemembers and their families and I was grateful to see it pass with wide bipartisan support!"
