Norfolk, Va. — Nauticus' annual WinterFest on the Wisconsin is set to open this weekend with new attractions including a 35-foot-tall leg lamp and a Buddy the Elf trail. U.S. News & World Report has recognized these creative displays as one of the Top 28 Christmas Light Displays in the United States, describing them as “…a fun twist on traditional light festivals.”

"Being recognized as one of America’s top holiday light displays was a big surprise and a huge honor,” said Stephen E. Kirkland, executive director of Nauticus. "A lot of love goes into producing this event, and this season we’ve got some amazing new additions we think families will really enjoy.”

The festival features over one million holiday lights and introduces the Mistletoe Marina Circus with performances by a magician, juggler, and aerialist. The Snow Queen will also host a tree lighting celebration twice nightly aboard the Battleship Wisconsin. Returning traditions include a waterfront s’mores station, marina bar, puppet version of A Christmas Carol, animatronic elves, and an elaborate train display.

WinterFest opens Friday, November 15 and runs select nights through January 1, 2025. Ticket prices vary with general admission at $22 for adults and $18 for children on premium nights; value night tickets are slightly less expensive. A FLEX option allows rescheduling for an additional fee.

Nauticus members receive discounted rates starting at $17 for adults on premium nights. Membership supports the Nauticus Foundation which funds interpretation and restoration efforts for the Battleship Wisconsin.

WinterFest's sponsors include TowneBank, The Perry Family Foundation, Centura College among others.
