Suspects sought in theft from hardware store on Portsmouth Blvd

On July 15, 2024, two suspects were involved in a theft at a hardware store located in the 4700 block of Portsmouth Blvd. The stolen items included a lawn mower and spray paint. The suspects fled the scene in an older model green Dodge Ram pickup truck.

Authorities are seeking public assistance to solve this case. "If you have any information regarding an unsolved case, your tip may help to solve the case or identify the suspects and you can remain anonymous," officials stated. They encourage anyone with information about crimes, wanted persons, or stolen property to reach out through various anonymous channels.

Tips can be submitted via telephone by contacting Chesapeake CrimeLine at 1-888-562-5887 (LOCK-U-UP) and selecting option 4 for Chesapeake. Alternatively, tips can be provided online through the Chesapeake Crime Line Form or via the mobile app "P3TIPS," which is available for most smartphones.

Officials assure that all tips will remain completely anonymous, with no phone numbers or computer addresses being displayed or identified. Furthermore, if a tip leads to an arrest or recovery of drugs or stolen property, it could result in a cash reward of up to $1500.

The City of Chesapeake encourages residents to come forward with any information that might assist in resolving this case.
