Residents in Chesapeake who have received a voter registration or absentee ballot application from the Center for Voter Information should be aware that this group is an independent third-party organization and not affiliated with the Chesapeake Voter Registrar’s Office or the Virginia Department of Elections.

To apply to vote absentee by mail or to check the status of an already submitted application, residents are encouraged to visit the Virginia Department of Elections Citizen Portal. This portal also allows voters to confirm their voter registration. Additionally, applications to vote by mail can be obtained at any Chesapeake Public Library branch and returned to the Voter Registrar’s Office at 411 Cedar Rd. no later than October 25.

For more details on voting in the upcoming November 5 election, individuals can refer to the November 5 Voter Guide.
