NORFOLK, VA – Kempsville Road between Northampton Boulevard and Virginia Beach Boulevard will close to all through traffic for drainage improvement work at the Kempsville Road/Frament Avenue intersection. Off-duty Norfolk Police will assist with traffic control during peak hours and as needed.
Traffic detours will be in place:
From Northampton Boulevard or Lowery Road
- Turn left at N. Military Highway
- Turn left at E. Virginia Beach Boulevard
- Arrive at Kempsville Road
- Turn right at N. Military Highway
- Turn right at Northampton Boulevard
- Arrive at Kempsville Road
The project will upgrade storm drainage infrastructure to improve the collection, movement and discharge of storm water runoff. The work includes a new storm drainage conveyance system, removing/replacing portions of curb and gutter.
