Electric Vehicle Chargers are Ready to Energize!

We are excited to announce that Electric Vehicle (EV) Chargers are active and ready to charge up to 9 cars simultaneously at the County Office Building off McIntire Road. The chargers are a pilot project in support of our Climate Action Plan. They represent a meaningful investment in the buildout of our community's electric vehicle infrastructure.

Using the Chargers

Quick Facts About the Chargers

  • The total budget for the chargers is $344,496. The project was funded with a grant from Dominion Energy. The net cost to the County was approximately $100,000 for the construction and installation.
  • There are 3 fast chargers that can charge 3 cars, and 3 standard charging stations that can charge a total of 6 cars simultaneously (2 each).
  • The chargers will be used to charge County-owned fleet vehicles and are available to employees and the greater public for use anytime.
