CITY OF CHESAPEAKE: Juneteenth Holiday Closures and Information

City of Chesapeake issued the following announcement on June 9

In observance of the upcoming Juneteenth holiday, all City offices, courts, community centers, and the Chesapeake Visitor Center will be CLOSED on Friday, June 18. All Chesapeake Public Libraries will be CLOSED on Friday, June 18, and Saturday, June 19.

There will be no changes to the trash or recycling collection schedules. SPSA will adjust the operating hours at their facilities on Saturday, June 19, in observance of the holiday. The Greenbrier Transfer Station will be open on Saturday, June 19 from noon to 4 p.m. for Chesapeake residents only. Additionally, SPSA will reschedule its normally scheduled household hazardous waste drop-off to June 26.

Normal operating schedules will resume on Monday, June 21. The Library will resume normal hours on Sunday, June 20. Residents who need more information should call the Customer Contact Center at 382-CITY between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays or log on to CityOfChesapeake.net 24 hours a day.
