NORFOLK ACADEMY: Seventh and Eighth Graders Honored in Form I and II Awards

Norfolk Academy issued the following announcement on June 2

Seventh and Eighth Graders were honored during a Middle School Chapel on Tuesday, June 1.

Awards were announced for Latin, reading, and other categories.

LATIN AWARDS

Latin Award – Form I: Annual award to the student who has achieved proficiency in Latin through hard work, determination, and classroom citizenship. Alex Lawson

Latin Award – Form II: Annual award to the student who has achieved proficiency in Latin through hard work, determination, and classroom citizenship. Olivia Reid

BATTEN READER AWARDS 

Given to students who have read the most books from the Batten Library collection in the 2020-21 school year.

7th Grade – Siya Patel (33 books) and Myles Bryan (43 books)

8th Grade – Simone Nied (19 books) and Eraj Zaidi (20 books)

FORM I

GENERAL DOUGLAS MACARTHUR AWARD: Annual award to the boy in Form I who has made the wisest use of his time during the school year. David Martin

JEAN MARIE MACARTHUR AWARD: Annual award to the girl in Form I who has made the wisest use of her time during the school year. Ella Stufflebeem

FORM II

ADAM THOROUGHGOOD AWARD: Annual award to the boy in Form II who has made the wisest use of his time during the school year. Lincoln Hatch

SARAH OFFLEY THOROUGHGOOD AWARD: Annual award to the girl in Form II who has made the wisest use of her time during the school year. Addie Peterson

Ninth Grade Awards were announced during a virtual ceremony on May 20.
