Master

Regent University issued the following announcement on May 26

Regent University’s School of Business & Leadership will launch the M.S. in Accounting program in Fall 2021. The M.S. in Accounting program is a 30-credit-hour program delivered entirely online. By enrolling in this degree program, students will have the benefit of earning a master’s degree from America’s premier Christian university and completing the 150 total credit hours required to qualify for the CPA certification and subsequent licensure.

“Accounting professionals are amongst the most sought–after business and finance professionals across industries and corporations, and Regent is ready to position our students as leaders in this arena,” said Doris Gomez, dean of Regent’s School of Business & Leadership. “Those who also hold the CPA certification remain some of the most qualified graduates in the professional arena, so we are bringing all of those strategic industry pieces together with the added advantage of powerfully equipping our students from a Christian perspective.”

A Cooperative Partnership with Big Four Endorsement

The Regent University Master of Science in Accounting program includes the additional benefit of a cooperative partnership with Becker CPA Review, the leading professional organization in developing CPA study materials. Becker is endorsed by the BIG FOUR accounting firms, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, and PwC.

Most importantly, the Regent University M.S. in Accounting program emphasizes ethical uses of accounting information and practices and specific strategies to protect the integrity of the financial reporting process, audit procedures, tax implications, and governmental compliance.

Industry Certifications Included

The degree will also assist students with completing additional certifications like the CMA, CIA and CFE. Students should consult with their state agencies to determine individual requirements for licensure. Regent’s M.S. in Accounting requires the completion of 30 credit hours of coursework, comprised of 7 accounting core courses and 3 track courses, in either financial reporting or taxation. Full-time students can complete the M.S. in Accounting in as little as 12 months. Part-time students can complete the program in approximately 16-30 months. Regent University considers 9 credit hours in a semester to be full-time.
