87 percent of applicants to Old Dominion University were admitted for fall 2018

At Old Dominion University, 73 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 55 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Norfolk enrolled 24,176 students in fall 2018, including 19,372 in undergraduate and 4,804 in graduate programs, data shows. 9.9 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

88 percent of undergraduates are residents of Virginia, and 9 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (44 percent) and Black or African American (31 percent).

The school admitted 87 percent of the 13,335 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 27 percent enrolled.
