Census Bureau: More men than women in Smithfield in 2020

Of the 8,492 people living in Smithfield in 2020, 49.8 percent (4,225) were women and 50.2 percent (4,267) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the South Tidewater News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by 410. In the 65 and over age range, there were 935 females and 763 males.
