Cost of college went up for all students at Paul D Camp Community College

In-state tuition and fees rose 3.1 percent for 2018-19 at Paul D Camp Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Virginia residents paid $4,730 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $142 more than the $4,588 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 125.3 percent more than residents this year, or $10,658. Their price tag grew 1.4 percent from $10,516 in 2017-18.

About 93 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Virginia residents. And about 3 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 90 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 69 students received grants or scholarships totaling $350,665 and 22 students took out student loans totaling more than $114,861.

Including all undergraduates (1,288), 566 students used grants or scholarships totaling $1.9 million, and 155 students took out $790,796 in federal student loans.
