Organizations offering arts, humanities, or cultural programs in Virginia Beach can now apply for grants from the Virginia Beach Arts & Humanities Commission. The commission has opened applications for two of its three annual grant programs, which must be submitted online by specified deadlines.

The Project Grants from the Virginia Beach Arts & Humanities Commission will reopen in December 2025. These grants are available to nonprofit arts and humanities organizations to enhance access to quality cultural programs for Virginia Beach residents. They are partially funded by a grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts.

For complete details about these and other arts and culture grants, interested parties should visit the Grant Opportunities webpage of Virginia Beach Cultural Affairs. Applications can also be submitted through this site. More information is available at VirginiaBeach.gov/Culture or via email at artsinfo@vbgov.com.

The Cultural Affairs Department plays a key role in engaging residents and visitors with meaningful arts, heritage, and cultural experiences. It supports the work of the Virginia Beach Arts & Humanities Commission, coordinates public art initiatives, manages contracts for the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, liaises with various local cultural institutions such as Virginia MOCA and ViBe Creative District, and provides resources to local arts organizations.
