Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBSchools) marked several key events and announcements in early April 2026 through posts on its official social media account.

On April 4, 2026, VBSchools acknowledged the contributions of school librarians with a message: “Happy #NationalSchoolLibrarianDay! We’re celebrating our VBCPS librarians for inspiring a love of reading, supporting students, and making our schools a place to explore and grow. #WeAreVBSchools”

The following day, April 5, 2026, the district issued an operational update for families regarding the school calendar: “#VBCPSFriendlyReminder: Schools are closed April 6‑10 for Spring Break. As a reminder, beginning April 13, school days will be extended by 10 minutes. This will last through June 8. Dismissal times during this period can be found at https://t.co/gsd9W1liQ2.”

On April 6, 2026, VBSchools recognized assistant principals as part of a national observance: “Happy #NationalAssistantPrincipalsWeek!
