Virginia Beach Schools, known as VBSchools on social media, recently shared several posts highlighting the dedication and contributions of school nurses and teachers. The posts commemorate National School Nurse Day and Teacher Appreciation Week, emphasizing the roles these professionals play in supporting students.

On May 7, 2025, VBSchools celebrated National School Nurse Day by acknowledging the essential care provided by their nurses. They announced that Wendi Gajewski from Kingston Elementary School was named “the VB School Nurses Association 2025 School Nurse of the Year.” The announcement can be found here.

In a follow-up post on the same day, VBSchools encouraged readers to “read the full story to learn about her amazing work and the impact she has on our students every day,” providing a link for further details. They also extended appreciation to all nurses who contribute to student safety and support. This message is available here.

Later that day, VBSchools shifted focus to teachers with a post titled “What’s on Your Desk?” This post highlighted how teachers’ desks reflect their personalities through items like gifts, notes, and lesson plans. It was part of their #TeacherAppreciationVB week celebration. More details can be found here.
