On July 28, VBSchools shared news about a recent event at Diamond Springs Elementary School: “ICYMI: We recently stopped by #DiamondSpringsES for an amazing meal distribution. Thank you to @MercyChefs & every volunteer, including @Commanders’ player & @FirstColonialHS alum Bobby Price, for lending a hand! Each student received a backpack filled w/7 days worth of meals.”
Later that evening, VBSchools reminded families about its summer meal program: ” In this episode of #NicolesEdventures, the @OVbscratch wants to remind you that VBCPS is proud to provide free breakfast & lunch to all children now thorugh August 14! No ID or registration is required. Find a meal site near you: https://t.co/GV0ruJDeIy” This initiative ensures access to nutritious food for local children during the summer months without any barriers such as identification or registration requirements.
The following morning, on July 29, VBSchools emphasized its long-standing commitment to youth leadership with another post: “For 50+ years, VBCPS has invested in the next generation of leaders. Each summer, @vblw brings approx. 125 high school student leaders together for a life-changing wk of connection, growth, & purpose. #VBLW is where leaders are made! #StepForward2025 #VBCPSStudentLeadersRock” This annual program gathers over one hundred high school students each year for activities designed to foster leadership skills and personal development.
