Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBSchools) posted several updates on November 3, 2025, regarding school closures, support for military families, and recognition of school psychologists.
In a message to the community, VBSchools announced, “Schools are closed for students today, Nov. 3–4, for a staff day and flex day. We’ll see everyone back on Wednesday, Nov. 5! #WeAreVBSchools #VBCPSFriendlyReminder” (posted November 3, 2025). The district reminded families that classes would resume on November 5 after a brief closure.
Later the same day, VBSchools highlighted its ongoing support for military families in the district. In a post dated November 3, 2025, the district stated: “Honoring the strength, sacrifice, and resilience of our military families. VBCPS proudly supports 10,000+ students with active-duty parents. Join us Nov. 21 for R.E.D. Day – Remember Everyone Deployed. #VBCPSMilitaryFamilies #WeAreVBSchools”.
Additionally, VBSchools recognized National School Psychology Week from November 3–7 with another message: “Nov. 3–7 marks National School Psychology Week! We’re celebrating VBCPS’ school psychologists who guide students toward academic success, emotional well-being, and personal growth. Thank you for helping every student thrive! #WeAreVBSchools #SchoolPsychologyWeek” (posted November 3, 2025).
Virginia Beach City Public Schools is one of Virginia’s largest school districts and serves a diverse student population that includes many children from military families due to the area’s proximity to several military installations.
