Three new businesses join Selden Market after renovation

Three new businesses are set to open at Selden Market in Norfolk, Virginia, with a ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled for Friday, December 5 at 11:00 AM. The event will showcase the market’s updated layout, which now includes upgraded amenities and an improved guest experience.

The three new businesses joining Selden Market are Juniper & Jam, Model Citizen, and Avocargo. Juniper & Jam offers small-batch jams, baked goods, and seasonal lunches made from locally sourced ingredients. Model Citizen is a company specializing in ready-to-drink cocktails and cocktail supplies for customers seeking convenience. Avocargo provides fresh meals daily, featuring plant-forward options as well as select chicken dishes inspired by Caribbean and Southern flavors.

During the opening celebration, attendees can sample products from each business and participate in special activities organized by the shops. The event is open to the public as well as media representatives and local leaders. Selden Market is located inside the historic Selden Arcade at 208 E. Main Street in Norfolk.

Selden Market operates under the Downtown Norfolk Council as a retail incubator that supports entrepreneurs by providing them with opportunities to test their ideas in a visible setting. The market features a variety of women- and minority-owned small businesses and has received national recognition for its approach to retail development. Regular operating hours are Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM; Thursday and Friday from 11 AM to 6 PM; some shops may have extended hours.
