Temporary closure of Birdneck Road scheduled due to water main break

Due to a water main break, northbound Birdneck Road will be closed for repair at Burford Avenue from 7 a.m. on Monday, July 28, to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, weather permitting.

Traffic will be detoured to Bells Road, Oceana Boulevard and Virginia Beach Boulevard, then back to Birdneck Road.

Signs and traffic control devices will be in place to guide motorists. “Please allow for additional travel time and drive safely.”
