The City of Chesapeake is currently engaging in its budget season, emphasizing the importance of community awareness and participation in shaping the city's financial priorities. City Manager Chris Price is set to unveil his proposed budget to the City Council on Tuesday, March 26 at 4:00 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to actively participate in the budget process by attending upcoming public hearings. City Council will conduct public hearings on the proposed budget on April 23 and May 14 at City Hall, with a specific public hearing on the real estate tax rate scheduled for April 9. These meetings commence at 6:30 p.m., allowing individuals to voice their opinions after signing up before the start time.
