80.7% of Southampton County residents old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 18,028 citizens living in Southampton County in 2021, 80.7% were old enough to vote, equating to 14,551 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 7,729 were male, constituting 53.1%, and 6,822 were female, making up 46.9%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Southampton County during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 77.9%.
