Summer school is now in session and so are the school zone speed cameras. School zone speed cameras are operating for summer school at Butts Road Primary and Chittum Elementary now through July 27 (except for Fridays and July 3-4) from 7:05 – 7:50 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. – 12:05 p.m. All potential violations are checked first by an actual Chesapeake police officer, who makes sure a violation did in fact occur, before a citation is issued. If you receive a citation, you must pay it online or by mail as it cannot be paid in person through the Treasurer’s Office.

Summer school runs Monday - Thursday from June 26 - July 27. Schools are closed July 3-4.
