But What Does the Employee Handbook Say: Common Pitfalls & How to Avoid Them - HRSHRM Series

Wednesday, March 1, 2023 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM EST

Prosper Insurance Group2929 Sabre St., Ste. #200Virginia Beach , VA 23452

The Hampton Roads Chamber and the Hampton Roads Society for Human Resource Management (HRSHRM) are partnering to offer the “Human Resources for  Business Leaders Series.” The goal of the four-part series is to help local human resource professionals learn about new strategies and practices in human resource management. Seminars will be heavily interactive while leaving ample time for Q&A.

Good administrative hygiene starts with your employee handbook.  Handbooks are the first line of defense in minimizing company exposure to employment law liability, but they often get overlooked falling out of date and being pushed to the back burner on long HR to-do lists.  Join us as we review these common mistakes and identify the essentials needed and best practices to avoid these handbook issues.  We will take an in-depth look into how to make your handbook effective and bring it into compliance.  This presentation will be interactive and questions are welcome so come prepared.

Speakers: Kristina Vaquera, Milena Radovic and Olivia Cohen with Jackson Lewis, P.C.
