We're in Hampton Roads!

23

Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

Latinos In Virginia Empowerment Center announces the opening of their new office located in Virginia Beach. This office will serve limited English proficient Spanish speaking victims of violence in the Hampton Roads area. Through this effort, the organization aims to mirror the model and success of the Greater Richmond Area office which provides direct services such as information, education, and resources in-person and telephonically to thousands of people in Virginia’s Latino community every year.

Since its launch in 2018, our 24/7 Hotline has seen an increase in the number of calls received from Hampton Roads and thus the need for direct services in Spanish for victims of violence in that area.

Latinos In Virginia Empowerment Center is a non-profit organization 501 (c) (3), dedicated to providing culturally appropriate and linguistically specific support and services for free to Latino community members who are victims of violence, with an emphasis on helping those who are limited English proficient or non-English speaking and with an objective of stabilizing their lives after being victimized.

Our model seeks to empower community members to be part of the change. Our services include advocacy, case management, support and reflections groups, shelter placement, safety planning, etc. All of our services are free and confidential.
