Norfolk Public Schools, the public school district serving Norfolk, Virginia, shared several updates on community and back-to-school events in a series of tweets posted on August 14 and 15, 2025.

On August 14, the district announced an upcoming musical event: “Join the @VASymphony for the CommUNITY Play-In & Sing-Along at @BTWBookers – Oct 19, 2025 at 4:30pm! Event is FREE and open to all. Bring your instrument or voice & celebrate unity through music. Register: https://t.co/1DED4nx1Jy #CommUNITY #NorfolkVA #FreeEvent”.

Later that day, Norfolk Public Schools highlighted a back-to-school event at Southside STEM Campostella Elementary: “We’re ready to #SaddleUpForSuccess! Today at Southside STEM Campostella Elementary, families met teachers, connected with community orgs, & students received books, backpacks & goodies for the year ahead. #BackToSchool #CommunityStrong”.

On August 15, the district recognized academic achievement at Tarralton Elementary School: @TarraltonES is ready for the school year! At last night’s Open House, Del. @PhilforVirginia honored Principal Hulse with the 2024 Exemplar Performance Highest Achievement Award for academic excellence. Dr. @jmpohl welcomed students & families to an amazing year ahead.”

Norfolk Public Schools regularly organizes events that promote student engagement and community involvement. The district often collaborates with local organizations such as the Virginia Symphony Orchestra and hosts initiatives to support students and families as they prepare for each academic year.
