Norfolk Public Schools, the public school district serving Norfolk, Virginia, highlighted recent initiatives and events at several of its schools through a series of social media posts published on September 24 and 25, 2025.
On September 24, the district acknowledged efforts to improve student attendance at Sherwood Forest Elementary School. In a post, Norfolk Public Schools wrote: ” At Sherwood Forest ES, showing up matters! Student Data Specialist Ms. Spain is keeping attendance front + center. She even found a creative way to help teachers stay on top of it. Thanks for all you do, Ms. Spain! #AttendanceMatters #NPS” (September 24, 2025).
Later that day, the district announced the launch of a new Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) incentive program at Madison Alternative Center. The tweet stated: ” New at Madison Alternative Center: our PBIS incentive program is here! Students earn points each class for meeting expectations , track their own sheets , & cash in for rewards — from PBIS store goodies to pizza parties . #PBIS #StudentSuccess” (September 24, 2025).
On September 25, Norfolk Public Schools shared highlights from an event celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at Coleman Place Elementary School.
